Cat feels better! Adorable video of kitten giving his feline friend the purrfect massage

Kneading those tiny paws in and out of a feline friend's backside, this adorable video captures a cat giving another cat a message.

Stretching out, the white and black cat flicks his tail with pleasure as his friend gets to work on his lower back, pushing every little claw into his thick coat.

The striped black and brown masseuse takes a few moments to turn and look at his friend's reaction to his efforts, before lazily sliding its paws toward his belly.

As if to say 'no' to the changed direction, with a bat of his paw the white cat turns away, catching his surprised volunteer therapist off guard.

Lying back down, the striped kitten gets back to work even when a far off distraction pulls the white cat's attention away.

Just like humans, such kinds of kneading are good for the cat's muscles and joints according to cat experts.

It's also believed to strengthen bonds of love and trust between them.

In need of something cute? Cue the kittens!

While cats are already known to sleep anywhere, with books and websites helping document it, one collection of pictures really raises the bar on awkward.

Seen draped over a laundry rack, spooning one another on a couch, and even in one cat's case planking in camouflaging white fur and bed sheets, the cats may also steer the envious idea that they get far more deeper and relaxing sleep than we do.

Of course, with one cat seen nearly passed out inside a dyer, and another across the a face of a dog, this may not always be such a good and safe thing, especially in the case of the cat passed out on a hot tin roof.

Orphaned at just two-weeks-old, Joey the kitten is shopping for a new home and his new found friend Chesney is helping him on his way

Joey’s mother was killed crossing the road near Exeter, Devon leaving Joey homeless until he found temporary refuge at a foster home.

But with three six-week-old kittens already at the house there’s not enough room for little Joey to stay too long so he’s on the lookout for a new home just like Chesney through Exeter Axhayes Adoption Centre.

The pair of pussy cats have been having fun getting to know each other, playing in a toy shopping trolley at the centre.

The centre has lots of kittens like Joey who shouldn’t spend kittenhood in a pen.
Their website says: 'They are all looking for loving safe homes to go to as soon as possible.

'They really want to experience their first adventure in a nice garden, to play in the grass and look at all the wonderful things that summer brings.'

They find homes for 700-800 cats a year as one of the UK’s leading feline welfare charities.

Meet the purrfect posers and clever canines who are proving popular thanks to their impressive ruff guide to yoga.

The contorted creatures, pictured mastering a series of tricky yoga positions, are the latest stars of a calendar created by photographer Dan Borris and his former yoga teacher wife Alejandra.

The pair, from San Antonio, Texas, put their talents to good use by rounding up rescue puppies and kittens from an animal shelter to help them create the unique tongue-in-cheek artwork.

Dan said the work required a great deal of patience but said they were inspired by their love of animals and enjoyed creating pictures that made people smile.

He said: 'The inspiration came from a writer friend of mine who practiced yoga.
'She was telling me about her dog licking her face in a headstand pose and generally getting overly involved in her yoga.

Cute: Dan said he was first taken with the idea of seeing dogs doing yoga, but then the theme of cats, kittens and puppies followed

'At that moment I thought wouldn't it be great to see dogs doing yoga. I love dogs and was doing a lot of yoga as well.

'Really I just was taken with the idea of seeing dogs do yoga, then the idea of cats, kittens and puppies followed.

'It was something so different from my usual work and I love making these photos in order to make people smile and learn about yoga at the same time.

'We find the animals every where. In the beginning we worked with our friend's dogs but of course the original pioneer Yoga Dog and Yoga Cat were our dog, Mela and our cat, Snoosh.

'We were then very lucky and happy to work with to work with animals for adoption at The Animal Defence League shelter in the city.'

In the studio the couple work together to recreate a variety of tricky yoga positions such as the lotus and, of course, the downward dog.

Dan photographs the dogs and cats while Alejandra uses her experience and TTouch training - a specialist therapy for animals - to help the animals feel safe and comfortable.

He said: 'We have poses in mind and try to get them as close as possible but the final images are the product of many hours of very detailed work using photoshop.

'There are of course some challenges working with animals but the most important aspect is to keep the dogs and cats feeling safe and actually having fun.

'Patience is a key ingredient, since dogs and cats have their own ideas. All the poses are genuine yoga poses or variations which are used in yoga classes.

'This is the part that's really important because the humour comes from them seriously doing real yoga.

'Ale loves this step of the work because she's the one who gets to be with the animals and play with them while I take the photographs.

'I also love to work with the dogs and cats but then of course I really enjoy the creative process when we start to create an image.

'Sometimes we don't really know where it's going to go but then the magic takes over and little by little it unfolds with a dog or cat doing yoga.'


Important: Patience is a key ingredient since dogs and cats have their own ideas, the couple said

We know cats love a good fight but it's not everyday you see them dressed for battle.

This lot have been snapped by their quirky owners, not showing off their fancy collars, but helmets - made of fruit.

From melons to oranges, grapefruits to pineapples, there is not a fruit in the bowl that these felines can’t fashion into some form of headgear - and it's totally fit for 'purr-pose'.

The biodegradable trend - which even works with a banana skin - is so popular that some dogs have been spotted working the ‘citrus’ look.

But judging by these photos it is the cats which can pull off the headgear the best.

The moggies - who have no chance of developing scurvy - are pictured starring menacingly at the lens, their whiskers poking out from underneath their 'helmets'.

Last year, an internet phenomenon swept the world where owners would hold their pets in the air - taking inspiration from the famous scene in the beginning of The Lion King where the wise mandrill Rafiki presents the young Simba to the herd.

And, earlier this year, several websites and blogs were set up purely for the purpose of celebrating cats who like to sit back and relax in style - just like their human owners.

A host of websites, Facebook pages, viral emails and blogs have been circulating pictures of ‘cats that sit like humans’ — and they’ve even been featured on TV.

And as these latest selection of kitty couch potatoes show, it is startling how their behaviour can seem very human.

One owner in Dubai posted a pic of their cat, two-year-old Tigy, relaxing on the sofa.

She wrote: 'Tigy in his favourite position. He's always just sitting back, relaxing on the bed. So adorable.'
